M&T Bank Pavillion at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - Baltimore, MD

Nearly 350 Maryland commercial real estate professionals turned out to salute the state's best in commercial projects at the Maryland Chapter of NAIOP's Awards 2006 Banquet on April 6.

Held at the distinguished M&T Bank Pavillion at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center the event recognized 18 commercial real estate oriented companies and service providers with 27 Awards of Excellence. CLICK HERE to view the list of award winners and their winning projects!

Highlighting the evening affair was the presentation of NAIOP's Lifetime Achievement Award to Harold and Bernard Manekin of Manekin, LLC in recognition of their significant contributions to the redevelopment of downtown Baltimore, including the Charles Center and Inner Harbor projects. In addition to growing Manekin into the largest full-service commercial real estate company active
in every sector of the Baltimore/ Washington metropolitan area, they have been active in considerable philanthropic efforts throughout the region.

Awards Chairperson Gina Stewart of Manekin Construction paid a special salute to all the project winners as she noted the "extreme difficulties encountered by the selection committee as it waded through the many outstanding entries with the task of finding ‘the best.'"

Prior to the presentations, attendees enjoyed an hour of dynamic networking. “NAIOP programs are more and more becoming the place to be to do business and make contact,” said Rob Bavar of Bavar Properties, NAIOP’s Program Chairman.

Next on the agenda for NAIOP-MD are a couple of exciting events starting with the NAIOP-MD Community Service Project 2006 on April 21. NAIOP members and friends are all invited to help build picnic tables for the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks in Cockeysville.

A few weeks later on May 8 the chapter will host its Thirteenth Annual MEMBERS ONLY Spring Golf Outing at Towson Golf and Country Club Eagle's Nest in Phoenix, Md. As space is limited for these events, be sure to register early.
