Baltimore, MD (January 16, 2013) – NAIOP Maryland has selected Kristen Joy, Sales Director at CoStar Group, as the inaugural Chairperson for the commercial real estate association’s recently-formed Ambassador Committee. NAIOP Maryland has more than 370 members and is comprised of individuals working for real estate development companies, brokerage firms and affiliated companies such as financial institutions, architectural firms and engineers.
The role of the Ambassador Committee is to promote all NAIOP Maryland events through the use of social media vehicles; arrange introductions between new members and current ones; and help facilitate the transition of new members into various elements of the NAIOP platform. Up to eight NAIOP Maryland members will be recruited to assist Ms. Joy with her committee responsibilities.
“This committee was formed using the theory that it is much easier to maintain a current customer than it is to generate a new one,” explained Dianna Wilhelm, President of NAIOP Maryland. “Kristen represents the ideal professional to welcome new members, determine the most effective way to integrate them into our association and serve as an initial mentor to answer questions and provide guidance and support.”
NAIOP is the nation’s leading trade association for developers, owners, investors and other professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate. Comprising 16,000 members in 55 chapters, it provides networking opportunities, educational programs, research on trends and innovations and strong legislative representation.
