More than 100 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help The 6th Branch (T6B), a veteran-led 501(c)3 organization, and the New Broadway East Community Association install a vibrant four-season landscape on Friday, May 14, 2021. The project that will reap many benefits, including better soil quality, stormwater filtration, community development and a beautiful tableau that offers multiple uses. Working with Baltimore City leaders in rising neighborhoods, T6B helps community members reclaim abandoned space for public use.
“For NAIOP Maryland to dedicate our time and resources to Broadway East means a lot to the community. This is one of the poorest neighborhoods not just in Baltimore, but in the United States. Hopefully the work that we did starts to bridge the divide between the ‘two Baltimores’ and sparks further investment in the area. As Ms. Doris Minor-Terrell, President of the New Broadway East Community Association said, our members left our ‘energy in the ground’ and we should not underestimate the positive impact that has on a community.”
