Last week, Wilhelm Commercial Builders constructed and delivered fourteen wooden benches, six picnic tables and twenty-four student garden tables, boxes and planters to the Living Classrooms Foundation’s Patterson Park Youth Sports and Education Center. Next, Brickman and a crew of five spent the better part of a day installing fiber fabric and topsoil into the planters and arranging the tables and benches into place. This year’s event became a mini-development project with NAIOP Maryland members including landscape architects, construction managers and other real estate professionals leveraging their talents improve the Living Classrooms site.

“Brickman works on projects across the country, but our roots remain locally and we always look for opportunities such as these that can benefit our community,” explained Debbie Heaver, Key Account Manager for Brickman. “Many Brickman employees grew up or currently live near Patterson Park and were able to participate in the enhancement activities.”

The NAIOP Maryland Community Service Committee is co-chaired by Brendan Gill and Connie Rhodes, with Jon Manekin and Todd Summerfield the Design/Build co-chairs.
