Kate Jordan, Vice President of Lee & Associates, has been named Co-Chair of the NAIOP Maryland Developing Leaders committee, which is comprised of commercial real estate professionals aged 35 years or under. Alex Kopicki of Solstice Partners also serves as Co-Chair of the group which currently features more than 80 members.

The NAIOP Maryland Developing Leaders committee organizes events throughout the year to accomplish both networking and educational objectives. Building tours are organized at venues such as recently-completed Class “A” office buildings, retail centers or industrial/warehouse projects or retro-fit locations. Tours are led by the development and design team responsible for the project, which offer a behind-the-scenes look into the challenges and obstacles overcome to achieve the finished product. Developing Leaders strives to organize two such building tours each year.

In addition, several times each year, Developing Leaders invites a highly-recognized commercial real estate veteran to spend an evening of networking and conversation with the members.

Jordan, who was worked in the commercial real estate industry since 2007, focuses on the leasing and sale of commercial office and industrial properties throughout the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. corridor region for landlords, institutions and corporate end-users of space. She has worked for the Lee & Associates Chesapeake Region for the past two years.

“I attended my first Developing Leaders meeting on a whim, and was immediately impressed by the event which featured a presentation from Robb Merritt of Merritt Properties,” Jordan explained. “Having the opportunity to spend quality face time with real estate veterans such as Robb is invaluable to young real estate professionals. Rather than just listening to a speech, these events become give-and-take dialogues in an intimate setting.”
