24 award categories presented for innovation and achievement by regional commercial real estate development firms, affiliated companies and professionals
Baltimore, MD (December 22, 2020) – NAIOP Maryland honored 17 different companies and organizations and seven professionals in 24 separate categories at its bi-annual Awards of Excellence held in a virtual ceremony last week. The program celebrates and recognizes the innovative achievements of regional commercial real estate developers, as well as the companies and professionals that service this industry in Maryland. Ryan Burrows, JLL; Morgan Gilligan, Stewart Title Guaranty Company; and Nicole Wilhelm Smith, ECS Mid-Atlantic served as Co-Chairs of the Awards of Excellence Committee.
Cathy Ward, formerly of Corporate Office Properties Trust and now Principal of Forward by Design, LLC was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and is the first woman to be so honored. Thirteen different commercial real estate leaders have been recognized since this award was conceived in 2000. Other individuals were presented with the Distinguished Merit, Broker, Legislative, Rising Star, Service Provider and Volunteer Awards.
“Despite challenging conditions and working in an extremely disrupted environment, outstanding achievements were completed in the commercial real estate industry in central Maryland that significantly contributed to the vibrancy of our region,” explained Jim Lighthizer, President of NAIOP Maryland. “There were many worthy candidates this year and the judging committee had an extremely difficult task to choose the eventual winners.
